Starting Early
Celeriac needs a very long growing season. Sow under glass from February to April in warmth (15–18°C). Prick out individually. Do not rush transplanting — plants need 6–8 true leaves and night temperatures above 10°C before going out, or they may bolt.Earthing Up and Side Shoot Removal
As the swollen crown develops above soil level, remove the lower leaves and any side shoots regularly. This directs energy into the root and produces a cleaner, more usable swelling.Watering
