The aromatic bulb used for seasoning in many different countries. Many varieties exist from very large bulbs with little flavour, to small and 'peppery' bulbs. Grow several varietie to match the food you will be cooking to give a more authentic taste to the dishes.

Garlic Growing Notes

Sowing

Plant 8-10cm apart and at a depth of 5cm. Plant out in mid to late Autumn in a well drained soil. Plant under glass to prevent rotting in wet springs

Harvesting

Harvest the bulbs as the leaves dry out and turn. Leave to dry in a well ventilated space. Plait the bulbs together for storage and hange from a nail in the garage.
