Peas come in many varieties, they are all sweet and delicious when picked and eaten fresh. Keep your eye on the fat pigeons as they love peas, and they will attack the young shoots.

Pea Growing Notes

Sowing

Sow under glass to protect from frosts. Sow in double rows at the bottom of flat bottom trenches, 25cm wide and 5cm deep. Keep 5cm between each pea.

Pruning & Thining

Protect from pigeons, keep well watered and weed free

Harvesting

Pick the pods from the bottom of the plant first. Do not let them get too mature as they are sweeter when younger.
