Generally a Spring Onion is different from a bulb Onion because it must be eaten young. However there are some varieties for sale which can be Spring and Bulb Onions.

Spring Onion Growing Notes

Sowing

If sown three weeks apart from spring to summer, cntinous crops can be harvested through to Autumn. Some varieties can be planted in late Autumn for picking in early Spring.

Pruning & Thining

Thinning and harvesting should be done at the same time. Ideal distance between onionsis 1cm.

Harvesting

Harvest the onions using a small fork to lift the selected plants out of the earth.
