Broccoli, Purple Sprouting Broccoli, and White Sprouting Broccoli. Not the Italian Sprouting Broccoli which is the green variety more commonly seen in the supermarkets and is more commonly known as Calabrese.

Broccoli Growing Notes


Sow thinly directly into finely raked soil. At a depth of 13mm. When the seedlings reach a suitable size for handleingl, transplant to 50-60cm apart.

Pruning & Thining


Harvest the purple sprouting shoots before they flower, and remove all shoots from the plant. This will encourage the plant to produce more shoots.
